Alaska Nike Vets

All Alaska Nike vets are invited to Sandy Hook, New Jersey on September 19th, 2012, for a reunion organized by the veterans of A Btry, 2nd Battalion, 562nd ADA, who ran Site Tare near Fairbanks. The location for this reunion is Nike Site NY-56, a restored Nike unit overlooking New York Harbor. The event is still in the planning mode, so watch the reunion Web site to keep tabs on events as they develop.

2nd Missile Battalion
52nd Air Defense Artillery

The Nike veterans (and their families and friends) who served in the 2nd Missile Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery form 1962–1983 in south Florida and at Ft. Bliss are invited to attend the Nike252 Veterans Reunion and Commemorative Ceremony October 20-21, 2012. This event coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis, which was the basis for the Homestead-Miami Air Defense Network.

In addition to a meeting and dinner on Saturday evening, a tour of the former A Battery inside Everglades National Park will be conducted after a ceremony in the administration mess hall to commemorate and honor the service of the Nike veterans who served in the Homestead-Miami Air Defense Network.
