LAUNCHER AREA
This is a picture of the exclusion area on the south side of the launch site. The missiles you see here are complete, except the rocket motors and warheads are removed for safety. Site SF-88L has 2 magazines. Each held 6 missiles and had 4 launchers. The main part of the magazine is 49' long and 60' wide. There is also a small control room that is located behind several blast-proof doors. This is where the launcher crew would control the launch of the missiles, as well as control the raising and lowering of the launchers.
Site SF88 is open for self guided tours week days (Wednesday - Friday) from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.. Or, you can come out for a guided tour of all areas of the site on the first Sunday of each month from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
